There has been a little buzz floating around the Internet the past few days that indie rockers Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are taking a break. Is it true? Yes. Well, not the members themselves, but the band has no plans to enter the studio or tour anytime soon.
The band's publicist confirmed the news to Paste saying: "It's true CYHSY have pushed back recording to work on other projects and don't have any plans to tour at this time. But beyond that, I don't think there's anything to read into."
There is one lingering show Feb. 13 in Brooklyn at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House that has yet to be canceled. It may serve as a farewell-for-now concert before the five guys part ways and concentrate on other creative endeavors. Front man Alec Ounsworth, for his part, has another project called Flashy Python and the Body Snatchers. Tyler Sargent and Robbie Guertin of the band also have a group called Uninhabitable Mansions. (Don't believe what you see on the MySpace page under the name. It's not "death metal." Not even close.)
