Colin Farrell and Keira Knightley to star in crime drama
Colin Farrell has had his share of false starts, but with his unexpected Golden Globe victory for In Bruges and a collection of understated roles ahead of him, it seems he may finally have found his niche. Add to the list the thriller London Boulevard, set to mark the directorial debut of The Departed penman William Monahan.
Farrell will star as an ex-con who becomes a handyman for an actress, who will be played by Keira Knightley, which all but guarantees the pair will
find more to do than fix things. Monahan will adapt Ken Bruen’s
2002 novel.
Monahan had a swift rise as a screenwriter for Ridley Scott and
Martin Scorsese since an inauspicious debut with 2005's Kingdom of
Heaven. Knightely will next star in Last Night, a drama that reunites her with the writer of The Jacket.
Farrell, meanwhile, will have a high-profile part as one of three
Heath Ledger stand-ins in Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Doctor
Parnassus.
