Numero Group to host its first-ever soul concert in Chicago

[Pictured: Twinight label star Syl Johnson]

The Numero Group's 2006 compilation album Eccentric Soul: Twinight's Lunar Rotation was a shining example of the Twinight label's short but storied history and a record to be cherished for fans of soul music everywhere. The two-disc set dusted off more than 40 would-be lost or forgotton tracks from the '60s soul label—home to greats like Syl Johnson and countless others—and gave them the attention they deserve.

Three years later, the Numero Group is planning an unprecedented event: a one-night live event dubbed the Eccentric Soul Revue at Chicago's Park West Theater on April 4. The concert will feature Twinight acts like Johnson, The Notations, Nate Evans, Renaldo Domino, The Kaldirons, The Final Solution, and will be backed by The Uptown Sound. No longer relegated to "lunar rotation"the term referencing the fact their music only garnered radio airplay during the late night hours—the concet will give the artists their due, many of whom haven't performed in over 30 years.

Tickets are $22 and are on sale now.
