Apparently, this wasn't enough for Raveonettes frontman Sune Rose Wagner, who in mid-December announced (along with an expanded live line-up) a new album for 2009. Wagner said on the Danish fuzz-rockers' MySpace blog he and the other permanent half of the band, fellow Dane Sharin Foo, are shooting for a September street date for the follow-up to 2008's critically acclaimed Lust Lust Lust.
In the latest blog entry, Wagner expressed the urge to create a "proper studio album with a genius producer," adding that "there's only so much you can do in your living room." (The 40-year-old singer/songwriter's former method of choice involved self-recording as much as he could before entering the studio for the final touches.) Very much a product of an '50s/early '60s rock 'n' roll influence, he hinted toward what he was looking for in the next release:
"Whenever you pull out one of your favorite albums, it'll stand the test
of time because of a timeless sound, excellent production and
songwriting. Now's the right time for us to step it up."

Raveonettes announce Lust Lust Lust follow-up
After releasing an album and four EPs in 2008, you might think a person (or a pair of them) would take a well-deserved break. Maybe a trip to Hawaii or somewhere in the Caribbean? Throw in some touring, rave reviews and even scoring #21 on Paste's Top 50 Albums of 2008, and you have yourself a pretty decent year.
