Blues Music Awards celebrate 30 years

The 2009 Blues Music Awards were announced on Jan. 8, marking the 30th anniversary of the Blues Foundation. The awards will be presented on May 7 at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, Tenn. Nominees include B.B. King, The Mannish Boys and Sean Costello, among others.

A blues fan's dream line-up promises to take over Memphis. Tickets will be available through The Blues Foundation and for those who stay at home, the awards ceremony and concert will be broadcast live through B.B. King's Bluesville channel on Sirius XM radio and shot in HD for a DVD to be released later this year.

The Blues Foundation has preserved and celebrated Blues history and brought musicians together from around the world for a few decades now, and this year promises to be no different.
