Caprica, the highly anticipated feature-length prequel to the hit show Battlestar Galactica, will be available on DVD and digital download on April 21. The DVD will feature a limited-edition uncut and unrated version as well as bonus features such as deleted scenes, commentary from Director Jeffrey Reiner and video blogs.
As the Battlestar Galactica series' end approaches in March, Caprica will set the stage for a new storyline that takes place 50 years before Battlestar. The story will follow two patriarchs of rival families as they compete for survival in a world different from our own, the 12 colonies. The technology and artificial intelligence of this time will lead to the creation of the Cylons in the future.The DVD will warm up fans for the Caprica series premiere in 2010 on the SciFi channel. The series production will begin this summer in Vancouver.
