Conor Oberst plans visit to the <em>Outer South</em> in May

Omaha indie darling Conor Oberst and his comrades The Mystic Valley Band are set to release a new album, Outer South, May 5 via Merge Records.

Oberst, along with the MVB (Taylor Hollingsworth, Nik Freitas, Macey Taylor, Nathaniel Walcott and Jason Boesel), recorded the album last November and December at Sonic Ranch Studios in Tornillio, near El Paso, Texas. The record includes songs written by Oberst, as well as Freitas and Hollingsworth.

The band will head out on the road for eight shows leading up to the album release and is scheduled to play at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in June.
