Daptone Records gets robbed

It's a bad week for the music industry. Chicago's Touch and Go Records just announced its closure and now, Brooklyn soul label, Daptone Records, has sent word that it was broken into and robbed Sunday night.

Sadly, much of the label's expensive equipment was stolen and damaged, including mics, pre-amps, monitors, turntables, guitars and computers. To make matters worse, Daptone's valuables were uninsured; the company was in the process of selecting a good agency, but had not yet signed a check. Employees have accelerated their search and begun pursuing a better alarm system since the robbery.
