Fat Possum gets Hi

Those bluesy fellas (and ladies) at Fat Possum Records are keeping nice and busy this Spring. Critics have pinned some gold stars to the label's lapels for Heartless Bastards' and Andrew Bird's latest releases. Appetite whetted, that chubby Possum is getting greedy, so it should come as little surprise that the Mississippi label will be swallowing (and licensing) the entire Hi Records Catalog.

Fat Possum President Matthew Johnson said in a statement that the label plans to reissue the rockabilly/soul label's entire catalogue, including albums by Al Green, O.V. Wright, Ace Cannon, Otis Clay, Syl Johnson, Willie Mitchell, and Ann Peebles. The greatest hits are already all up on iTunes.
