Not in the mood to become a Rock Star? How about a DJ? According to MTV News, Guitar Hero publisher, Activision Blizzard, is working on yet another spin-off of its best-selling game, a DJ-based music game called DJ Hero.
According to Kotaku, the game is
expected to hit stores this summer after being in development for two years. The controller will look like a simplified DJ Deck.
"There is a platter for scratching which will act like the strum toggle on a Guitar Hero guitar," the website explained. "Above the platter are three buttons for sampling. The controller also includes a cross fader and a sound effects dial which will act like the whammy bar in Guitar Hero."
The screen layout for the game will differ from Guitar Hero. The musical notes will be positioned around a virtual record instead of flowing down the guitar. The controller is currently wireless, but the publisher is considering legs for the controller for easier play when standing up.The only obstacle now between the game and its success is the licensing of the music for the mash-ups and playlists. Solving the licensing issues with the music industry has proven to be no easy task.
