Directly or otherwise, Jane Austen's novels are so often developed for the screen that it’s hard to keep up with all the adaptations. That said, something tells us it won’t be so hard to remember this one: Elton John's production company (?) has wrangled Pride and Predator, a new version of Pride and Prejudice that stirs up the costume romance with a hostile alien who arrives to Earth and begins to take out some pre-Victorian hotties.
The idea, Variety posits, is to get younger guys into the theater, the one potential Austen audience not exploited so far. Although
that probably undervalues women who would pay good money to see Mr.
Wickham dispatched properly, the flick isn't alone in the new approach: a movie version of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is also on the way.
Set to be directed by William Felix Clark (of the famed short The
Amazing Trousers), the movie doesn’t appear to be related to the Predator franchise. It will open next year.

It wouldn't undervalue this woman. I'd love to see this being a sci-fi fan more than a classic romance fan myself.
