Those of you who caught the Late Show with David Letterman last Friday may have noticed that a perfectly formed time capsule from 1993 was cracked open that night: previously-unaired stand-up material from funnyman/satirist/chainsmoker Bill Hicks.
Hicks' mother Mary joined Letterman last Friday, where they reminisced about the life and times of the man who self-identified as "Chomsky with dick jokes." Letterman's segment revolved around a "lost" Late Show clip of Hicks' stand-up from the early '90s that was deemed "unsuitable for broadcast" at the time. The clip shows its age a little (right down to the bit about Marky Mark), but it's excellent stuff for fans of Hicks' particular brand of black comedy:Part 1:
