Every once in a while, you'll hear a band name, later see a photo of the members and go, "Yeah. They match the description. I'm not sure how, but they do." Meat Puppets are one of those groups. (Perhaps it has something to do with Rob Reiner's Meathead in All in the Family.) The point? Well, there wasn't one, really. But the Meat Puppets are back with a new album, the second since their 2006 reunion.
The influential '80s trio is releasing its 12th studio album, Sewn Together, May 12. The band will debut songs from the follow-up of 2007's Rise To Your Knees at SXSW March 19. What this means is that all you Meatheads out there still have a while to wait.
