Patrick Swayze to write a memoir

Patrick Swayze will co-author a memoir with his wife that will chronicle his 25-year film career and his current trials with pancreatic cancer, according to People.

The news of Swayze’s cancer came as he was already attached to his new project, the delightfully named A&E series The Beast, and the decision to continue production on the show became a minor folk narrative last year. The series debuted to modest numbers earlier this month.

Swayze’s film career took an uneven trajectory, especially as the ’90s stretched on, but his marquee roles in movies like Dirty Dancing and Ghost assure him a place among his generation of Hollywood actors. Recently, he's become better known as a cult-action icon in dated flicks like Red Dawn, Road House and Point Break.
