Phosphorescent takes Willie on the road again

Phosphorescent will embark in a month-long tour across the U.S. starting Feb. 26 in Massachusetts, in support of the band's Willie Nelson covers album, To Willie.

For the follow-up to 2007's Pride, Matthew Houck selected 11 of his favorite Willie Nelson songs from his wide catalog, incorporated his style and made them his own. He selected not only classics, but deep cuts as well. The album's title, To Willie, is a reference to Nelson's 1975 release, To Lefty From Willie, a 10-song homage to Lefty Frizell. As a way to express his gratitude, the CD reads "To Willie, From Phossy," a very simple but poignant dedication to the music legend.

Phosphorescent plans to play the album in its entirety at the dates in Brooklyn, San Francisco, Los Angeles and SXSW, but he will still grace fans with selected tracks from the album at other dates.
