Watchmen: The End is Nigh game gets sneak peak

A two-part episodic video game, Watchmen: The End is Nigh, will be the official video game release for the most celebrated graphic novel of all time, according to MTV Multiplayer. The video game is set for a March release and is available for download-only through Xbox 360, Play Station 3 and PC. The End is Nigh is another release to add to the growing list of download-only titles, a new trend among video games.

The Watchmen game works as a prequel to the graphic novel, and is set 10 years before the movie. The six-chapter video game was overseen by Dave Gibbons, the book's artist, and Len Weid, the book's editor. Featured in the game are Nite Owl and Rorschach, whose voices are done by the actors in the movie, Patrick Wilson and Jackie Earle Haley, respectively.

Charged with action and flying fists, the game allows the player to disarm enemies, twist limbs and even beat enemies with bats (!!!). Whether you choose Rorschach or Nite Owl, you may be swarmed with up to 20 enemies at a time. The two-player option is not available for online co-op, but it does allow the two players to roam different parts of the same level on a split-screen format.

And for those who are impatient (and do not want to pull their hair out while waiting), head over to the Minutemen Arcade website and play the 2D Flash-based fighting game featuring the Minutemen's Silk Spectre I and Nite Owl. Below is the just-released preview of the game.
