Time to get ill, y'all. The Beastie Boys took it easy for a spell after 2007's The Mix-Up, content to polish their Grammys and pop in for a festival show or two. Well, they'll be having no more of that, as a recent press release intimated. The Boys' iconic 1992 album, Check Your Head, will be getting the reissue treatment, complete with a helping of b-sides and rarities culled from the B-Boy vaults.
Beginning March 30, fans will be able to download the Check Your Head reissue via the Beastie Boys' website. Several other versions of the album will be available for pre-order then as well, including an audiophile-quality 180 gram quadruple-vinyl set, wrapped in a coffee-table book case and limited to 2000 copies.
Not-so-coincidentally, the B-Boys have also just confirmed that they'll be headlining a show at the Hollywood Bowl on September 24. It'll be the first time the group has ever headlined the famed L.A. arena, with the show being the first of many possible gigs in the run-up to their next album, tentatively titled Tadlock's Glasses, due later this year.
Every version of the Check Your Head reissue except for the quadruple-LP deluxe set hits the streets on April 7, with the deluxe package slated to drop shortly thereafter.
