Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer tour

The legendary men of Spinal Tap would be wise to invoke Saint Hubbins, patron of quality footwear, for their upcoming 30-date tour around the country. Dubbed "Unwigged & Unplugged: An evening with Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer," the Mighty Wind/This is Spinal Tap trio's jaunt kicks off Apr. 17 in Vancouver and runs through May 31 in Milwaukee.

Although Guest has made a name for himself with bumbling metaphors about preserved moose and love pumps, Paste recently captured a more serious side of the comedian. Among other things in the interview, Guest discusses the paradox of touring as a fictional character, and playing Woody Guthrie's mandolin.

But the trio will be all silliness on its upcoming tour, even if the men are leaving the wigs and costumes behind. The shows' material will all be drawn from the two Spinal Tap albums, This is Spinal Tap and Break Like the Wind, and the soundtrack to A Mighty Wind.

Guest & Co. are also in the middle of recording a new Spinal Tap album featuring the "original studio versions" of the live songs, to be released May 26.

Tickets for the shindig go on sale this Friday, March 6.
