Not much has changed since the debut of the Tron 2 trailer at last year's San Diego Comic-Con: The Dude will still be reprising his role from the first, and the flick is still pegged for a 2011 release. But now we can add one more item to that list. In what is sure to be Daft Punk's greatest contribution to animated film since Interstella 5555 (pictured above), the French electronic wizards have just been given the go-ahead to write and produce Tron 2's music score.
The collaboration is being touted as Daft Punk's first feature-film score which, while technically true, ignores their other (admittedly campy) contributions. There's no other news on the Tron 2 + Daft Punk front, but we can all rest easier now that, at the very least, the light cycles are gonna have an awesome soundtrack.
