Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard’s The Cabin in the Woods has gestated for some time, but with the subversive horror flick finally headed into production, more cast details have come together.
Richard Jenkins (The Visitor) had previously signed on to lead the ensemble cast, and
according to THR, he will be joined by Kristen Connolly (Revolutionary
Road), Chris Hemsworth (Australian soap Home and Away), Anna
Hutchison (a former yellow Power Ranger), Fran Kranz (Whedon’s new
series Dollhouse) and Jesse Williams (The Sisterhood of the Traveling
Pants 2). The cast also includes character mainstay Bradley Whitford,
probably best known as the deputy chief of staff on The West Wing.
Whedon co-wrote the film with Goddard (Cloverfield), who plans to
direct. Plot details have remained fuzzy, no doubt by design, but /Film
got its hands on a copy of the script and posted a detailed review last
month.
