After various delays, Neil Young is set to release his Archives Vol. 1 box set on June 2. Produced by Young himself, the set will be available as a 10-disc Blu-Ray edition for $299, a 10-DVD box for $199 and a CD version for $99. The box set covers Young's early-career period between 1963 and 1972.
Archives Vol. 1 offers fans early recordings with The Squires in 1963-1972's Harvest and Beyond. It also features studio and live tracks with Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, and Neil Young
with Crazy Horse. Aside from music, the box-set includes DVD and Blu-ray editions of Young's first film, Journey Through The Past, available for the first time since its 1973 theatrical release.
The DVD/Blu-ray box set is packed with extras including a 236-page full-color hardbound book with other archival materials, a foldout Archives poster, a special CD holder for the 10 discs, tapes, databases and more.
As a pre-order incentive, Young is offering a preview CD, Disc 0, that contains two rare tracks of Young with The Squires and a rare 7" single.
