Neil Young, consummate singer/songwriter/environmentalist that he is, has been quietly plugging away on the Lincvolt project for more than a year now. Unbeknownst to us, though, was the fact that he's been using his efforts to get his creative juices flowing for his next album, which is nearly ready to hit the streets. Young's latest LP, Fork in the Road, is slated for an April 7 release.
The album is based on Young's experience retooling his 1959 Lincoln Continental to run on alternative fuels, a joint project between he and biodiesel researcher Johnathan Goodwin that culminated in the two going on a cross-country gasoline-free road trip (one of the tracks is even named after Goodwin.) A documentary about the trek is currently in the works.
Tracklist:
1. When Worlds Collide
2. Fuel Line
3. Just Singing A Song
4. Johnny Magic
5. Cough Up The Bucks
6. Get Behind The Wheel
7. Off The Road
8. Hit The Road
9. Light A Candle
10. Fork In The Road
A special DVD edition of the album is available for preorder now on Young's website. Fork in the Road is out April 7 on Reprise Records.
