The competition among social networking websites is getting intense and Facebook's future keeps getting threatened. First, Twitter, and now Hulu. According to Variety, Hulu has launched Hulu Friends, a new set of social networking features that will allow viewers to create a profile and network with other users.
As part of Hulu Friends, users will be able to customize their profile page and connect with friends by adding contacts from their e-mail accounts, track what they are watching, leave messages in their profiles and sharing videos. Hulu's CEO hopes this new feature will increase ad sales and user interaction and video viewing.
Launched in 2007, Hulu.com has steadily won a fanbase over the last few years with TV stars starring in their alien-themed commercials, from 30 Rock's Alec Baldwin to Dollhouse's Elisha Dushku. The online video service offers anything from current TV shows to brilliant-but-canceled shows like Arrested Development, for free and in high-quality video.
