Rainn Wilson and James Gunn shopping anti-hero script

If you're not all burned out on movies about super heroes that are quirky and bad at their jobs (Mystery Men, The Specials, Hancock, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Watchmen, etc.), Rainn Wilson announced recently via Twitter that he and James Gunn (The Specials, Slither) were shopping around an "f 'd up low rent Watchmen" to indie producers.

Is this a remake or a spin-off of Gun's earlier superhero film? Time will tell on that one, but Wilson seems hyped about the project, which might give it some footing. Pitching a non-traditional superhero movie to studios at the moment might not be the best idea, following the mixed results with Watchmen, but it seems perfectly suited for an indie-film plot line.
