Connecticut ballad-mistress Kath Bloom is finally getting some well-deserved kudos. On April 7, she (and a host of musicians proud to call Ms. Bloom their darling) will release Loving Takes This Court: A Tribute To The Songs Of Kath Bloom via Australian label Chapter Music. The release will feature two discs: one of originals, and one of Bloom covers, sung by such notables as Bill Callahan, Devendra Banhart and The Dodos.

Bloom flew somewhat under the radar with her folk-musings in the '70s, but she crooned her way to the top with "Come Here," featured in Richard Linklater's '90s film Before Sunrise. She released her first album on Chapter Music, Finally, in 2006. She plans to tour in support of Loving Takes This Court through Florida and California this Spring.
