If you're torn between which game hardware to buy (Rock Band or Guitar Hero), the decision just got a lot easier. The Beatles: Rock Band was just announced for release on Sept. 9 for XBOX 360, Playstation 3 and Wii consoles.
Although the website currently offers no indication of what the game will be like (it's a still photo of an apartment with recording equipment on the ground with the title "9/9/09" and stray warm-up notes playing over the image), it will most likely follow the same formula as AC/DC: Rock Band. In similar fashion, you should be able to play through the career of The Beatles, playing at landmark shows. And who knows, maybe the game will be assigned as homework for part of Liverpool Hope University's new master's degree in The Beatles, Popular Music and Society.

"it will most likely follow the same formula as AC/DC: Rock Band"
Not true at all.

from Beatles Video Game Coming From 'Rock Band' Creators Next Year:
"It's not a 'Rock Band' game," Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos said during a conference call, speaking for the MTV-owned studio behind the original "Guitar Hero" and the "Rock Band" series. "It's a new creative exploration of their music and a celebration of their legacy in a way that hasn't been done before."
AC/DC pack was just a bunch of downloaded songs.

While your passion for video games involving The Beatles is commendable Jham, the story that you're citing comes from Oct. 30, 2008. I apologize for not making my story more clear. The information that this story is based off of was a press release received directly from the makers of The Beatles: Rock Band on March 5, 2009:
APPLE CORPS LTD., MTV AND HARMONIX ANNOUNCE "THE BEATLES: ROCK BAND,"
WORLDWIDE RELEASE SET FOR 9/9/09
Please note that "Rock Band" is imbedded in the title. Either way, I'm sure it will be an enjoyable game for fans of both The Beatles and Rock Band.
The apartment setting you described in the article is actually the famous Abbey Road Studios where the Beatles recorded their albums in.
