Just admit it. We all get a little curious about the details of our favorite celebrities' personal lives at one time or another. Well, thanks to a charity organized by Guardian writer Simon Hattenstone, you can get just about as close to those (hopefully clean) details as humanly possible.
In an effort to help New North London Synagogue raise money for its destitute asylum seekers drop-in program, Hattenstone called on a variety of celebrities to donate their underwear for an eBay auction.
Kinda surprisingly, a good number of them were actually OK with the idea and sent in their skivvies with personalized messages. Donators include:
Daniel Day-Lewis:
Jarvis Cocker:
Fergie:
And more...
Says Hattenstone in a column from last Saturday: "It's amazing how true the pants are to their owners. Jarvis Cocker's blue Y-fronts could have been made in the '70s, and are as close to ironic pants as I've ever seen. Ricky Gervais's are grey Calvin Klein. Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas sent very brief gold briefs."
