VH1's Behind The Music to make a comeback

VH1's Behind The Music to make a comeback

VH1's Behind the Music is set to make a resurgence on the network after going into semi-retirement in 2002.

The show aired from 1997 to 2002 with a few sporadic episodes between then and 2006. It's likely the highly-watched New Kids On The Block: Behind the Music that ran last fall gave the lagging series a boost.

Scott Weiland and Lil Wayne have already signed on for the new episodes. Weiland's story will probably throw a curveball into the normal formula that the show seems to take: obscurity, fame, drugs, downfall, resurgence. Weiland's life has had so many ups and downs with drugs over the years that the outline for the show will be hard to pin down, although he looked like he'd put on some weight during his touring last year, which means he might be off the drugs—for now.

Jim Forbes will return to narrate, and the show will take on minimal updates such as more current footage of the artists featured.
