First it was the Blind Boys of Alabama, then it was the Innocent Criminals. Now, Ben Harper has orchestrated another album with his latest musical entourage, Relentless7. In promotion of their debut album, Harper and Relentless7 have announced a packed schedule of club dates and summer festivals.
Harper's new blues-rock troupe will be hitting the dusty tour trail in May, just months on the heels of its recent SXSW debut. They plan on hitting up Bonnaroo and Sasquatch!, and will even make a stop at Pete Seeger's birthday party.Ben Harper and Relentless7 will release their debut album, White Lies for Dark Times, on May 5. The single, "Shimmer and Shine," is currently available on iTunes, and the video is up on the band's website.

Webster Hall can't wait!!
ben and his relentlessly changing band name can be seen at the 80/35 fest in downtown des moines july 3rd or 4th, as well as matisyahu, malkmus and the jicks, g. love, and public enemy
Yeah, Aaron's right. The Innocent Criminals have been his backing band for almost his entire career, sort of like Petty & the Heartbreakers. Not really appropriate to label them as some random entourage, especially an out of order one.
That being said, can't wait for the new album. Wish I could see him live in DC, but somehow tickets sold out before the show was even announced.
