Bret Easton Ellis finishes Less than Zero sequel

Bret Easton Ellis finishes Less than Zero sequel

As Bret Easton Ellis, the author of Less than Zero, finishes up the sequel to his generation-defining book, he is already thinking of how to lure the Iron Man back to him. Yes, Ellis wants to make his second book into a movie sequel including original cast members Robert Downey Jr. and James Spader. The sequel to the book that started Downey's and Spader's careers will be released in May 2010.

According to MTV Movies Blog, the sequel will be titled Imperial Bedrooms, and it will recount the story of the cast members, their relationships, and how complex they have gotten over the last 20 years.

Ellis wants to bring Downey back since in the original movie he abused drugs and alcohol as Julian, just like he did in real life a few years ago. Ellis says the character will be sober in the sequel and that his real-life experience with substance abuse could bring a different perspective and depth to the character.
