In a minor pop-culture tragedy, a judge has quashed plans by former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to appear on the NBC reality series I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
With a gazillion-count indictment stacked against him, Blagojevich had
to ask for permission to appear on the series because it films out of the
country, in Costa Rica. The judge said Blagojevich needs to focus on his criminal case. There were rumors of a last-stitch effort by
NBC to bring the show on American soil to accommodate the former
governor, but that possibility was quickly shut down by the network.
Instead of Blagojevich, we'll have to settle for, among others,
Geraldo Rivera, Sanjaya from American Idol and The Hills co-stars Heidi
Montag and Spencer Pratt.
