20th Century Fox's youth-oriented subsidiary Fox Atomic is set to close down, with the label head returning as an executive at its parent company, according to Variety.
Aimed at teen and early-20s audiences, Fox Atomic's genre-specific releases included The Hills Have Eyes, Turistas and the 28 Weeks Later franchise. The studio was hoping for success with this year's new titles, like the July 10 release I Love You, Beth
Cooper and Diablo Cody's Jennifer’s Body, which will be released Sept. 18. Fox Atomic's titles will now be released as regular Fox films.
Among the projects that will likely transfer to 20th Century Fox include the Sacha Baron Cohen produced Accidentes and 28 Days Later's latest zombified sequel, 28 Months Later.
