"If you need a friend, get a dog." The wise words of I'll-do-anything-to-get-to-the-top Gordon Gekko are set to come once again to a theater near you in the sequel to 1987's Wall Street. Oliver Stone is set to direct the sequel, according to MTV Movies Blog, despite the fact that he said over a month ago that he would not revisit the project.
Michael Douglas will likely return to reprise greedy, ruthless Gekko and Shia LaBeouf is in talks to join the cast as well, according to Variety. Set in the present, Gekko takes LaBeouf's character under his wing, in a similar way as he did Charlie Sheen's character in the original. While there is no word if Sheen will return to the sequel or specifics about the plot, the movie comes at a right time due to the recent economic meltown and current corporate greediness. Currently, Stone, after his biopic W., is concentrating on making documentaries, one of them being his Hugo Chavez film, slated to be finished later this year.
