When last we left beloved and influential singer-songwriter Peter Case, a non-profit group called Hidden Love was soliciting donations on his behalf. The 54-year-old Case had just undergone an unexpected open-heart surgery. Lacking health insurance, he looked to be stuck in a sorry predicament.
A benefit concert appeared to be in the works, but no further
information was available at the time. Well, friends, now we have some
details.
McCabe's Guitar Shop in
Santa Monica, Calif. will host a three-night benefit concert series
from May 1-3. Tickets cost $50 for each night, with all proceeds going
toward Case's mounting medical bills.
Who will play? Give a gander:
May 1: Loudon Wainwright III and friends
May 2: Dave Alvin and friends (including Bill Morrissey, Stan Ridgway and others)
May 3: T-Bone Burnett and "special surprise guests"
Head over to the Hidden Love online for more ticket information and direct donation opportunities.
Meanwhile, a Hidden Love press release even had a word from the man himself: "I'm glad to be alive and lucky to have such great friends."
