Those who have been following the Simon and Garfunkel soap opera long enough know to be a bit skeptical when the duo reunites for a tour. Throughout their stormy personal history, the two musicians have gone through enough quarrels to make India and Pakistan blush.
But hang it all, this time they mean it: following a successful encore showing at New York's Beacon Theatre in February, the pair will play
New Zealand and Australia this summer. It's the first time they've
toured since 2004, and their first visit Down Under since 1983.
There's no word yet as to whether the tour will make its way to other continents, but the official Simon and Garfunkel Web site refers to the dates below as "the first and only confirmed 2009 tour dates for the beloved duo."
