While we hate the idea of adding fuel to the rumor fire, we couldn't help but comment on this. Seattle post-grunge quartet Sunny Day Real Estate may be getting back together. It's not hard evidence, but here's what's popped up so far...
First, Ear Candy reported it had a tip from Marco Collins, a former-radio and now Internet DJ in the Seattle area. Sure enough, go to his Blip page, and a March 31 post reads, "I just got AMAZING NEWS! Sunny Day Real Estate has been rehearsing together again with all original members and are gonna tour!"
Then, another dude on Twitter named Brian Perkins said pretty much the same thing. Never mind the fact that everyone is sourcing him but can't seem to figure out who the guy is. And when you try going to the March 10 post, it apparently has been deleted. Luckily, the blog Perfect Lines caught a screenshot of it, reading, "Sunny Day Real Estate reunion is a GO! Just heard from little rainbird in Seattle, after first full practices in years. Festival dates tk!"
Last bit of evidence, and then we'll let you mull it over. Apparently, frontman Jeremy Enigk, who has been known to play the band's songs solo live, recently said at a Massachusetts gig that he couldn't play the songs without the rest of the band. It's far from official, but we'll keep you posted.
