We’re unabashedly in the tank for Richard Jenkins, an Oscar nominee for The Visitor earlier this year, and it’s always welcome to see a character actor with a long history get his due. Right now, that’s Jenkins, who just landed a part opposite Julia Roberts in the film adaptation of the bestseller Eat, Pray, Love.
The story follows a woman’s journey around the world after she divorces
her husband. The well-liked book is a memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert. According to Variety, Jenkins will play a Texan the woman encounters on her travels.
Ryan Murphy, known for Nip/Tuck and the film version of Running with
Scissors, will helm the movie. It shoots this summer.
