For the second time, Kanye West has agreed to perform a benefit "Stay in School" concert in Chicago, supporting Students Helping Our World. S.H.O.W. was formed by David Abrams, a sophomore at Chicago's Highland Park High School, who approached West about the project.
The
central aim of the Kanye West Foundation, which is putting on the concert, is to honor the rapper's late mother,
Dr. Donda West, and her emphasis on the importance of education and the potential of young people.
The concert, to be held June 11 at the Chicago Theatre, is sponsored by the Kanye West Foundation, an organization that focuses on reducing the high school drop out rate in America. The student members of S.H.O.W. and West collaborated to plan the event, which West will headline.
Music network Fuse will tape and air the concert, and tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster for $49.50-$500.
