With Terminator Salvation coming out in about a week, McG is ready to take on other projects. One of those other projects is the movie adaptation of the 139-year-old book 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by French writer Jules Verne. While not many details are available about the movie, MTV Movies Blog confirmed McG as the new director of the project.
The story of the anti-hero Captain Nemo and his submarine crew has not been told since the 1954 adaptation starring Kirk Douglas and James Mason as Captain Nemo. Now the adventure-sea monster story will be brought to life with CGI technology to a new generation and with a fresh new perspective, according to McG.
