Pardon us if we're a little confused about the Jackson Five/Michael Jackson This Is It tour fiasco. It seems to change daily. First, the King of Pop politely declined a family reunion tour. Then he got all set up for his splashy This Is It tour with a series of shows at London's O2 Arena. Now, after the shows have all sold out, Jackson Five tour organizers, AllGood Entertainment, have filed a cease and desist lawsuit against This Is It.
AllGood's reasoning harkens back to last October, when all of the Jackson's will-he-won't-he tour drama began. Reportedly, Jackson's manager Frank Delio signed the Jackson Five reunion contract, which stated that the King of Pop wouldn't tour anywhere 18 months prior to the reunion, which This Is It violates. Info about the tour leaked right after the alleged signature and Jackson was quick to deny in an official statement that he would tour with his family.
But lawfully, an agent can sign for his client, so this may bode ill for This Is It. With selling his estate and auctioning off all of his property earlier this year, the King of Pop can't seem to catch a break. At least he had a brief and peaceful respite in the form of his Robert Burns-penned album last year. Whether or not that ever sees the light of day is anyone's guess, though.
