Raveonettes Ready to Record After Producer Confusion

Raveonettes Ready to Record After Producer Confusion

After keeping fans updated with his play-by-play MySpace updates, Sune Rose Wagner of the Raveonettes finally announced the Danish twosome is ready to hit the studio and record the follow-up to 2008's Lust Lust Lust. In recent weeks, Wagner has posted a new blog entry nearly every day, keeping fans in the loop to whom he and bandmate Sharin Foo had spoken.

In the end, there were two producers Wagner and Foo seriously considered: Michael Patterson (Beck, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, She Wants Revenge) and Thomas Troelsen (Monrose, Junior Senior). Earlier, it seemed Wagner was dead-set on getting Troelson, but the two parties could not settle on a price. The duo then met with Patterson. According to Wagner, it "didn't feel right, it's hard to explain really, chemistry I guess. Patterson is a really cool and knowledgeable man but in the end it didn't feel like the perfect combination." During their L.A. visit, the duo also spoke with big-name producer/mixer Dave Sardy, knowing they couldn't afford him.

But through all that and an April Fool's gag in which Wagner claimed now-convicted, wall-of-sound legend Phil Spector was interested in the project, the duo returned to negotiations with Troelsen and hashed out a deal. Wagner says he'll be discussing album ideas with Troelsen and recording after that.

In lieu of touring this summer, the band will hit festivals such as Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and Siren Fest.
