Sled Island Announces Initial 2009 Lineup

Canada's Sled Island Music and Arts Festival has announced the initial lineup for this year's run, including The Breeders, Liars, Anvil, Ladyhawk and Andrew W.K.

More than 200 bands will perform at 23 venues in Alberta, Calgary, including Olympic Plaza, where the 1988 Winter Olympics ranking competitors received their medals.

The festival goes from June 24-27. Besides bands, there will be art shows, film screenings and comedy sets. Here's a listing of the confirmed artists thus far, with more to come:
