Recognizing the waning demand for books in today's depressing economic climate, a network of independent booksellers has declared today, May 1, Buy Indie Day.
Much like its musical cousin, Record Store Day, Buy Indie Day looks to encourage consumers to support independent book retailers. The idea is that everyone go buy one book at an indie book retailer today, whether it be hardcover, softcover, mass-market, audio or whatever. A handy dandy indie store-finder is available here.
