So, who's having the best week ever? Unfortunately, it's not the VH1 program that coined the expression and has been giving snarky weekly accounts of the good, the bad and the unbelievable in pop culture since 2004. Best Week Ever fans are going to have to wait quite awhile for the next round of irreverent run-downs. In fact, according to New York's Vulture blog, they might be waiting forever.
Officially, the network staple is scheduled to return in January. A spokesperson for the program assured Vulture this is simply a "scheduled production hiatus" and that the show's "companion piece Best Day Ever, which spoofs that day’s pop-culture news, will return this fall." But the show's "scheduled production hiatus" has never lasted more than a few weeks in the past, and to some, this long break hints at cancellation. Comedian Paul F. Tompkins, who became the show's lone host after its relaunch in October and is an NYC transplant (presumably for the show), is even rumored to be moving back to L.A.
All we can say is that we really hope these are just rumors and that Best Week Ever continues to bring us our weekly dose of wit amidst the overwhelming "Celebreality" lineup VH1 has adopted.

I'll take The Soup over Best Week Ever, but hate to see Celebreality get more air-time... even though it provides material for The Soup... vicious cycle!
i'm not as concerned about the show as i am about the blog. it provides a high percentage of the LOLs i experience on a daily basis.
BWE was way better before Tompkins took over as host. At this point I can't say I'm sad to see it go.
