June 19, 2009  |  7:30am
Asthmatic Kitty has announced the upcoming release of Castanets' latest full-length, Texas Rose, The Thaw, and the Beasts, scheduled to drop Sept. 22. Frontman Ray Raposa will add ornamentation to the work with help from Castanets regulars Henry Nagle and Suzanna Waiche and Asthmatic Kitty kindred DM Stith; they join six others to create the band's latest. It was produced by fellow Kitty Rafter Roberts.

Raposa will lead the band in an extensive cross-country tour this summer.
