Bombadil Cancels Tour

Despite the fact that they have a brand-new, highly anticipated album set to hit shelves July 7, Paste Band of the Week alums Bombadil announced recently that they would be canceling the remainder of their tour.

According to the band's website, bassist Daniel Michalak suffers from severe arthritis that impedes his ability to perform on stage, and his bandmates' loyalties lie with him. They "did not feel that it was in the artistic spirit of the band to continue and play shows without him."

The former Duke University students sport an alternative-folk sound with international influences, drawing on the South American traditions. The forthcoming Tarpits in Canyonlands has already warranted some positive press, and is available for pre-order.
