Glastonbury Festival Halts Murder Trial

A murder trial in London has been delayed after the judge learned one of the jurors had tickets to the Glastonbury Festival. (We're wondering if his honor is a Blur fan.)

The juror, who was scheduled to sit in for the trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court, asked Judge David Radford before the trial to be excused for the four-day festival.

Judge Radford initially denied the juror's request to be released, but reconsidered after he found out more details about Glastonbury. According to Yahoo UK, Radford told the juror, "If you had elaborated a bit more on what going to Glastonbury entailed, I would have stood you down this morning."

A new jury will be sworn in on Wednesday morning and the trial is expected to last three weeks. Judge Radford later clarified his statement, saying, "I think you perhaps pre-supposed a bit too much knowledge on my part. This is essentially a pre-booked holiday and you have organised to go with friends."

The festival lasts June 25-28 and and will feature Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Bloc Party, Blur and many more.
