Telluride Blues & Brews Festival Announces 2009 Lineup

Telluride Blues & Brews Festival Announces 2009 Lineup

As anyone who has ever watched MTV's My Super Sweet Sixteen can attest, managing to stay alive for 16 years is a pretty big deal. But the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival in Colorado is celebrating the milestone far more maturely than anyone on the show ever has. Oh, there will certainly be a party, but instead of lots of bling and whining, there will be plenty of ice-cold beer and down-to-earth blues tunes.

This fall, the three-day event will feature Grammy Award winners Joe Cocker, Buddy Guy and Bonnie Raitt in the top spots. Supporting acts include Xavier Rudd, Umphrey's McGee, Saint Jude and Taj Mahal & the Phantom Blues Band. Taj Mahal and Raitt will both perform solo sets, but the two performers will also share the stage for a portion of the weekend as part of their 30-date BonTaj Roulet Summer Tour.

And there will certainly not be a shortage of brews. The festival boasts a beer list of about 150 selections from 56 different microbreweries.

All of this musical and alcoholic goodness will take place with a gorgeous 13,000-foot mountain serving as the backdrop. We'd like to see any lavish, televised party top that.

Festival details:
Dates: Sept. 18-20
Price for Regular 3-Day Ticket: $155
