Call us rumor-peddlers, but this one was just too good to pass up.
Tucked away in the sidebar of an interview in Music Connection, right after the requisite "Jack White's first instrument" and "Jack White's dream collaboration" factoids, sits the nonchalant tidbit that White plans to begin working on a solo album at the end of this year.
"The only thing that's in my way ever is time," White laughs in his interview with the magazine. "I hate sitting around and having to wait for something to happen." Really, Jack White? We couldn't tell, what with all your lazing about lately. You know, between new bands, new tours, new recording studios, buzzy new collaborations, classy backyard weddings, city music councils and now, apparently, solo albums.
Not a single detail beyond Music Connection's nearly indifferent admission has emerged yet, but stay tuned. You can bet that any further information will immediately be accompanied by another flurry of blogosphere activity.
