Flaming Lips, Black Francis, Dandy Warhols, More Pay Tribute to Love and Rockets

Details have been released regarding the upcoming Love and Rockets tribute album, and it includes some familiar faces. The Flaming Lips, Black Francis, The Dandy Warhols and Better Than Ezra are among the bands set to release material for the upcoming project.

Fans will be able to purchase a hard copy of the compilation, entitled New Tales to Tell: A Tribute to Love and Rockets, on Aug. 18. The album will be available digitally July 28.

The album was produced by Phil Jaurigui and Christopher "The Minister," with Shepard Fairey lending his hand for artwork.

Love and Rockets was formed from the ashes of goth pioneers Bauhaus. The group, made up of Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins, maintained a cult following through mid-80's and 90's, scoring a top ten hit with "So Alive." In 2008 the group played Lollapalooza, which we understand was a good time.
